REL:mb 11/1/91 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 91-100 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA REQUESTING THAT THE SOUTHERN <br />CALIFORNIA REGIONAL AIRPORT AUTHORITY (SCRAA) <br />NOT ACCEPT THE ORANGE COUNTY CITIES AIRPORT <br />AUTHORITY (OCCAA) AS THE ORANGE COUNTY <br />REPRESENTATIVE ON THE SCRAA BOARD OF <br />DIRECTORS. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on August 14, 1991, at a regular meeting of <br />SCRAA, OCCAA requested membership on the SCRAA Board of Directors <br />as the Orange County representative; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana is <br />very concerned that OCCAA's representation of Orange County airport <br />issues is inadequate and inappropriate; considering OCCAA's <br />membership includes only six of the total 31 Orange County cities <br />(31) counting Laguna Hills and Lake Forest which will be <br />incorporated in December, 1991, of which Anaheim, Garden Grove, <br />Newport Beach, Stanton and Yorba Linda are active members on <br />OCCAA's Governing Board, and the City of Santa Ana is presently an <br />inactive member; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, OCCAA has been the principal proponent for the <br />conversion of U.S. Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) E1 Toro, an <br />approximately 4,700 acre military facility located at the center of <br />the county, to either a full commercial use airport or joint <br />commercial and military use airport; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a new airport facility at MCAS E1 Toro would <br />have County-wide impacts which should be addressed from an <br />objective perspective by a more representative Orange County based <br />group. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />DOES HEREBY RESPECTFULLY REQUEST that the Southern California <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />
