089 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 92-001 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA OPPOSING THE PROPOSED CHANNEL <br />SCRAMBLING BY COMCAST CABLEVISION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, as on November 4, 1991, Mr. David Barford, Genera] <br />Manager of Comcast Cablevision presented to the City Council a <br />proposed channel scrambling plan for Santa Ana which would require <br />all subscribers to use a cable box with their television; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on November 4, 1991, the city Council expressed <br />concerns to Mr. BarfO~d regarding such a channel scrambling plan <br />and its impact on the community; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on November 19, 1991, <br />Board voted unanimously to oppose Comcast Cablevision's <br />channel scrambling plan due to its restriction on many <br />products. <br /> <br />the Cable Television Advisory <br /> proposed <br /> consumer <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY <br />COUNCIL: <br /> <br /> Opposes the proposed channel scrambling plan as presented by <br />Comcast Cablevision. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this 6th day of Januar3 , 1992' <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />rk of the Council <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBERS: <br /> <br />Young yes <br />Pulido Ye~ <br />Acosta Ye~ <br />Griset Yes <br />McGuigan Ye~ <br />Norton Yes <br />Richardson Yes <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> <br /> <br />
