RESOLUTION NO. 92-010 <br /> <br />EEL: 1/15/9:) <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA CALLING FOR THE <br />FORMATION OF A PROJECT AREA COMMITTEE <br />FOR THE PROPOSED MERGER AND AMENDMENT OF <br />THE REDEVELOPMENT PLANS FOR THE SOUTH <br />MAIN STREET AND INTERCITY COMMUTER <br />STATION REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREAS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to the California Community <br />Redevelopment Law (Health and Safety code, Section 33000 et seq.), <br />the Santa Ana Redevelopment Commission has commenced activities to <br />merge and amend the Redevelopment Plans for the South Main Street <br />and Intercity Community Commuter Station Redevelopment Project <br />Areas; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council desires the participation of <br />residents, businesses, and community organizations in the merger <br />and amendment process and seeks to call upon the residents, <br />businesses, and existing community organizations in redevelopment <br />project areas to form a representative Project Area Committee <br />("PAC"), to be approved by the city Council. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. The City Council hereby calls upon the residents, <br />existing community organizations and businesses within the South <br />Main and Intercity Commuter Station Redevelopment Project Areas to <br />form a PAC. <br /> <br /> 2. The PAC shall be comprised of a maximum of 10 <br />members, and shall include (as required by Section 33385 of the <br />California Community Redevelopment Law) residential owner <br />occupants, residential tenants, businesspersons, and members of <br />existing community organizations within the project areas. Only <br />persons who are in one or more of the aforementioned categories are <br />eligible to serve as PAC members and to participate in the <br />selection of the PAC members. <br /> <br /> 3. City staff shall hold a minimum of one public <br />meeting for the purpose of providing information to the <br />aforementioned groups regarding the proposed merger and amendment <br />of the project areas, PAC formation procedures and elections. The <br />City staff shall give written notice of the meetings by mailing, <br />delivering, and/or distributing meeting announcements to project <br />area residents, businesses, and community organizations, and shall <br />cause notices of such meetings to be published in the Orange County <br />Register and Miniondas newspapers of general circulation. Such <br />notice shall publicize the opportunity to serve on the PAC. <br /> <br /> <br />
