<br /> A. Giraldin, President, Mission Savings and Loan Association, was denied, for solu-
<br /> tion to left turn problem from Main Street onto 17th Street.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the request of
<br /> Homer Sterling was denied, for placement of a crossing guard at the intersection oi
<br /> Hazard Avenue and Newhope Street.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the request of
<br /> Stiles & Robert Clements, Architects - Engineers, representing Sears, Roebuck and
<br /> Company, was denied, for a deviation from required 22 feet of full height curb be-
<br /> tween adjacent driveways on Pomona Street at Broadway.

<br /> On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the request of Iva
<br /> M. McFadden, et al, 2110 North Main Street, was denied, for an additional mid-blockil~
<br /> crosswalk or the relocation of the existing mid-block crosswalk on North Main Stree
<br /> between 20th Street and Buffalo Avenue.

<br />On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the request of
<br />Gorzeman Pharmacy, 302 West Fourth Street, for the southerly two parking meters be-
<br />tween Fourth Street and the alley in the 300 block of North Broadway be changed to
<br />24-Minute meters, was referred back to the Manager for investigation and report.

<br />It was moved by Councilman Heinly that Robert Michael Hernandez, Architect, be in-
<br />structed to prepare preliminary plans for the proposed Stadium at the Segerstrom
<br />and Raitt Streets site. Motion withdrawn.

<br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Heinly and carried, the communication
<br />from Mrs. Louie Boer, 91~ North Lowell Street, was received and filed, detailing
<br />various reports reference the Municipal Bowl at Eighth and Flower Streets, and the
<br />proposed Stadium site at Segerstrc~ and Raitt Streets.
<br />
<br />It was moved by Councilman Heinly, that the Manager be instructed to contact Floyd
<br />E. Weaver, Engineer, with view to employment for a report on the Bowl at Eighth and!i
<br />Flower Streets, to determine whether or not it is feasible to renovate said Bowl, oF
<br />parts thereof, for the purpose of temporary use for the forthccraing season. Mayor
<br />

<br />Michael Hernandez, Architect, be instructed to prepare preliminary plans for the pr~-
<br />posed Stadium at Segerstrom and Raitt Streets site, with the thought in mind for the
<br />1963 season.

<br /> granted permission to leave the City to attend, at City expense, the Conference of
<br /> Mayors to be held in Miami, Florida, May 6, 1962, and to be absent from May 6
<br /> through May 25, 1962.
