· 215 <br />~ENDED BY MINUTE ORDER AT ~;~Y 17, 1993 CO~CIL MTG. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. ~ 92-0.31 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA~AUTHOR!ZING THE CLERK <br />OF THE COUNCIL TO DESTROY OBSOLETE <br />VIDEOTAPES OF CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Government Code Section 34090.7 permits the City <br />Council to prescribe a procedure under which duplicates of city <br />records less than two years old may be destroyed if they are no <br />longer required; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, videotapes of City Council meetings are taken by the <br />Clerk of the Council primarily to facilitate the preparation of the <br />Minutes of the Council meetings; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, once the written Minutes have been prepared, said <br />videotapes become duplicates of the written Minutes and are <br />therefore obsolete and no longer required; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Clerk of the Council wishes to adopt a formal <br />procedure to destroy said videotapes in order to reduce inventory <br />costs for videotapes and the costs associated with preparing <br />separate resolutions for their destruction; and <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. The Clerk of the Council is hereby authorized to destroy <br />videotapes of city Council meetings ninety (90) days after <br />occurence of the event recorded thereon. <br /> <br /> 2. Videotapes are to be destroyed by removing them from the <br />Clerk of the Council's custody and transferring said tapes to the <br />Santa Aha Library. <br /> <br /> 3. This authority is hereby granted on a ~ontinuing basis to <br />obviate the need for separate resolutions of destruction for said <br />videotapes. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this _6_t day of <br /> <br />April , 1992. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
