RESOLUTION NO. 92- 054 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA APPROVING NEGATIVE DECLARATIONS <br />AND ADOPTING THE CITY'S SOURCE REDUCTION AND <br />RECYCLING ELEMENT AND HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS <br />WASTE ELEMENT. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the California Integrated Waste Management Act <br />requires the City to prepare and adopt a Source Reduction and <br />Recycling Element (SRRE) and a Household Hazardous Waste Element <br />(HHWE); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City's SRRE specifies the means by which the City <br />will divert 25% of the solid waste generated within the City <br />through source reduction, recycling and composting by January 1, <br />1995 and 50% by January 1, 2000; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City's HHWE specifies the means by which the City <br />will safely collect, recycle, treat and dispose of household <br />hazardous waste generated by households in the City; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council held a duly noticed public hearing <br />on October 21, 1991 to receive testimony regarding the preliminary <br />draft of the SRRE and the HHWE; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council held a duly noticed public hearing <br />on June 1, 1992 for the purpose of adopting the SRRE and HHWE; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, an Initial Study was prepared, pursuant to the <br />California Environmental Quality Act guidelines, which concluded <br />that all reasonably foreseeable environmental impacts were <br />mitigated by measures contained in the SRRE and HHWE; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA that the final draft SRRE and HHWE are hereby adopted <br />by the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this 1st day of June, 1992. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBERS: <br /> <br />Young Ay~ <br />Pulido Ay~ <br />Acosta Aye_ <br />Griset ~ <br />McGuigan _~ <br />Norton AyE <br />Richardson Ay~ <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> <br />City Attorney <br /> <br /> <br />
