017 <br /> <br />RELmvb: 6/8/94 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 94-029 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA SUPPORTING THE INCLUSION OF THE CITY <br />SANTA ANA IN A COUNTYWIDE RECYCLING MARKET <br />DEVELOPMENT ZONE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in June, 1992 the Council of the City of Santa Ana <br />approved the Source Reduction and Recycling Element (SRRE) for the <br />City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, implementation of the SI{RE will result in the <br />increase in the quantity of types of materials recovered from <br />diversion programs instituted in conjunction with the California <br />Integrated Waste Management Act of 1989 (AB939); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the County and Cities are proposing to act as joint <br />lead agencies in a countywide Recycling Market Development Zone <br />(RMDZ); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the RMDZ boundaries would encompass <br />unincorporated and incorporated areas of Orange County; and <br /> <br />all <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the creation of the countywide RMDZ would enhance the <br />employment and economic development goals of the lead agencies; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, current and planned City waste management practices, <br />programs and conditions are favorable to the development of post- <br />consumer waste materials; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, designation of the proposed Zone as a RMDZ is <br />necessary to assist in attracting and developing recycling <br />businesses within the County; and <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA that the City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby <br /> <br /> <br />
