Council Chamber <br />Santa Aha City liall <br />September 10~ 19o2 <br /> <br /> · 0 <br />7.3 P.M. <br /> <br />City Council met in adjourned regular session, ordered by ~he Council at its regular meeting of September h, 1962. <br />The Assistant Clerk of the Council reported that the Order of Adjournment was properly posted~ evidence thereof <br />being on file in the office of the Clerk. Meeting called to order by the M~yor. <br /> <br />Present: Councilmen: Royal E. Hubbard~ Henry H. Schlueter, James Gilmore, Bob Brewer, A. A. Hall <br /> <br />Absent: Councilmen: None <br /> <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given~ followed by the Invocation which was led by Rev. Delwin Thigpen, Spurgeon <br />Methodist Church. <br /> <br />Hearing <br />Newport & D~,er <br />S. E. Annex <br />Resolutions <br />62-1['2 & 62-145 <br /> <br /> hearings continued <br />Mayor Hall opened concurrent /from September 4, 1962 onResolution No. 62-122 and <br /> <br />Resolution No. 62-145, and announced that this was the time for the Council to hear <br />protests against the annexation by persons owning real property within the territory <br />proposed to be annexed to the City of Santa Ana under the designated name of "New- <br />port and Dyer S. E. Annex." Upon the Clerk's presentation of affidavits of publica- <br />tion of Resolution No. 62-145 and affidavit of mailing written notice of this protest <br />hearing to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed was <br />assessed in the last Equalized Orange County Assessment Roll~ it was moved by Council. <br />man Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried, that the affidavits be received and <br />ordered filed. The Mayor then asked the Clerk if any written protests against the <br />annexation started by Resolution No. 62-145 had been received. The Clerk presented <br />protest letters from the following: The Irvine Ranch Water District, signed by W. F. <br />Graves, President; The Irvine Company~ signed by Charles S. Thomas, President; Walter il <br />J. Pollard, property owner in the territory; and Department of Public Works, signed <br />by Robert Bradford, Director.
