Council Chamber Santa Aha City liall September 10~ 19o2 · 0 7.3 P.M. City Council met in adjourned regular session, ordered by ~he Council at its regular meeting of September h, 1962. The Assistant Clerk of the Council reported that the Order of Adjournment was properly posted~ evidence thereof being on file in the office of the Clerk. Meeting called to order by the M~yor. Present: Councilmen: Royal E. Hubbard~ Henry H. Schlueter, James Gilmore, Bob Brewer, A. A. Hall Absent: Councilmen: None The Pledge of Allegiance was given~ followed by the Invocation which was led by Rev. Delwin Thigpen, Spurgeon Methodist Church. Hearing Newport & D~,er S. E. Annex Resolutions 62-1['2 & 62-145 hearings continued Mayor Hall opened concurrent /from September 4, 1962 onResolution No. 62-122 and Resolution No. 62-145, and announced that this was the time for the Council to hear protests against the annexation by persons owning real property within the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Santa Ana under the designated name of "New- port and Dyer S. E. Annex." Upon the Clerk's presentation of affidavits of publica- tion of Resolution No. 62-145 and affidavit of mailing written notice of this protest hearing to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed was assessed in the last Equalized Orange County Assessment Roll~ it was moved by Council. man Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried, that the affidavits be received and ordered filed. The Mayor then asked the Clerk if any written protests against the annexation started by Resolution No. 62-145 had been received. The Clerk presented protest letters from the following: The Irvine Ranch Water District, signed by W. F. Graves, President; The Irvine Company~ signed by Charles S. Thomas, President; Walter il J. Pollard, property owner in the territory; and Department of Public Works, signed by Robert Bradford, Director. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Brewer
