APPROVED: <br /> <br />MAYOR OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br /> <br />Statement of William L. Pereira and Associates in Opposition to Newport-Dyer S. E. <br />Annexation, with exhibit; Affidavit frcmWilliam H. Spurgeon, with attachments. On <br />motion of Councilman Hubbard~ seconded by Brewer and carried, the documents were i <br />received and filed. On request of Mr. Smith, a motion was made by Councilman Hubbard, <br />seconded by Brewer and carried, that the remarks made by Mr. Smith at the hearing on <br />September 4 be received and filed. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Janice Boer, 912 N. Lowell~ objected to the annexation as being harmful to <br />property owners. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Brewer, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the hearing <br />was continued until September 17, at which time Mr. Charles Thomas, Mr. Long and <br />Mr. W. F. Graves shall be at the meeting, bringing the minutes and any documents <br />pertaining to the transfer of the water company and the minutes, documents and neces- <br />sary information pertaining to the transfer on July 24. Councilman Hubbard asked if <br />the subpenas had been served. Mr. Hurwitz, Attorney representing the City, replied <br />that Mr. Thomas, Mr. Long and Mr. Graves had been served. It was moved by Council- <br />man Hubbard, seconded by Schlueter and carried~ that the returns of service of the <br />subpenas be received and filed and made a part of the record. Whereupon the hearing <br />was continued until September 17, 1962. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Schlueter and carried, John Lutz <br />was appointed to fill the vacancy on the Board of Parking Place Commissioners. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Schlueter and carried, permission <br />was granted for a parade on September 15 between 1:00 P.M. and 4:00 P.M. by Hanna <br />for Congress Committee. <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Schlueter and carried~ the meeting <br />was adjourned. <br /> <br />ASSISTANT CLERK OF THE ~UNCIL <br /> <br /> <br />
