MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br />OCTOB~ 15, 1962 <br /> <br />The meeting was c~11~d to order at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber, Santa Aha City Hall, with the following <br />Councilmen present: Royal E. Hubbard, Henry H. Schlueter, James Gilmore, Bob Brewer, and Ma~or A. ~11 en Hall. Ma~or <br />Hall led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag, fo/lowing which the Invocation waS given by Reverend Carl Berger of the <br />First Preshyterian Church. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />On motion of Councilmm~ Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Brewer and carried, Minutes of~ <br />the Regular Meeting of October 1, 1962, were approved as submitted, without reading. <br /> <br />BID OPTING <br />A.D. 218 <br />CA-90 <br /> <br />The Clerk notified the City Council that this was the time and place fixed for the <br />opening of bids, pursuant to Notice Inviting Bids for the construction of certain sewer <br />lines, together with appurtenances and appurtenant work in the City of Santa Ana -- <br />Assessment District No. 218, as contemplated by Resolution of Intmution No. 62-156. <br />Mr. Gilmore disqualified himself from action on this item. <br /> <br />The Clerk also reported that she had received three bids, which bids were publicly <br /> <br />opened and read, from the following: <br /> <br />Dorfman Construction Co. <br />Vukojevich & Kordich <br />Orange Co. Sewers, Inc. <br /> <br />$619,632.~O <br /> 623,523.16 <br /> 558,794.03 <br /> <br />Reference is hereby made to the bids on file with the Clerk of the Council for 411 <br />detaile as to the unit prices and kinds or classes of work to be done. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Brewer and carried, all bids <br />were referred to the Engineer of ~ork for checking and report to the City Council at <br />the meeting to be held at 7:30 o'clock p.m., on Monday, November 5, 1962. <br /> <br />HEARING <br /> <br />CA-42 <br /> <br />Mayor Hall opened the hearing on Amendment Application 412 filed by Robert Buckheim, <br />proposing amendment to Sectional DistrictMap 5-5-9 by reclassifying from the Parking <br />Zone, C-5, and A-1 Districts to the C-5, R-4 and R-1 Districts, property on the north <br />side of 17th Street between Sherry Lane and~right Street. The Mayor stated that the <br />Chairman of the Planning Commission had requested that the application be returned to <br />them so that they might make a reccmmaendation to Council. Hugh ~ight, 2001 N. Lyon, <br />spoke on behalf of a group representing the 136 persons having signed a petition oppos- <br />ing the amendment. It was moved by Councilman Hubberd~ seconded by Councilman$chlueter <br />and carried, that the matter be referred back to the Planning Commission with a reques$ <br />that notice of the Commission's new hearing be given as for the original hearing. <br /> <br />HEARING <br />AMEND. APP. 416 <br />ORD. NS-619 <br />CA-42 <br /> <br />Mayor Hall opened the hearing on Amendment Application 416 filed by Cal Enterprises re~ <br />questing an amendment of Sectional District Map 25-5-10 reclassifying property situated <br />at the northwest corner of Main and Central Streets from the C-2 District to the CM <br />District. There being no response to the Mayor's call for testimony, the hearing was <br />closed. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Brewer and unanimously <br />carried, ~an O~dinance entitled "ONDINANCE NS-619 AMENDING ARTICLE IX OF THE SANTA ANA <br />MUNICIPAL CODE TO CHANGE DISTRICT CLASSIFICATION ON AM~IDMENT APPLICATION 416 AND AMenD- <br />ING SECTIONAL DISTRICT MAP 25-5-10 (EXHIBIT AA 416 A), was passed to second reading <br />without further reading. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NS-613 <br />,A.W~ND.
