MINUTE~ OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br /> OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFCENIA <br /> December 3, 1962 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. Roll call was answered by Councilmen Hubbard, Schlueter, Gilmore, Brewer <br />and Mayor Hall. Following the PledEe of Allegiance to the flag, the Invocation was delivered by the Reverend Dr. <br />Daniel Rider, First Baptist Church. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Councilman $chlueter and unanimously carried, <br />Council approved minutes of the Adjourned Regular Meeting of November 13, 1962 and the <br />Regular Meeting of November 19, 1962. <br /> <br />,BID AWARD <br />AFFIC I~i GNAL <br /> OJECT NO. T-2 <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Brewer and carried, Council re- <br />ceived and ordered filed a tabulation of bids received for the construction of traffic <br />signals at Broadway, North Park and Santa Clara intersection; approved award of the con- <br />tract to Electric and Machinery Service, Inc., in the amount of $13,840.00 and rejected <br />other bids. <br /> <br />BID A~RD <br />~IDENING 8TH STREET <br />0A-89 <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Brewer, seconded by Councilman Hubbard and carried, Council re- <br />ceived and ordered filed a tabulation of bids received for the widening of 8th Street from <br />Broadway to ~helton; approved award of the contract to C. E. Hurley Construction Co. on <br />basis of unit prices in the amount of $102,838.OO~ and rejected all other bids. <br /> <br />HEARING, WARD LINES <br />CA-lO8 <br /> <br />Mayor Hall opened the hearing on Resolution No. 62-209 a resolution declaring Council's <br />intention to change ward boundary lines. Mrs. Janice Boer, 912 North Lowell, responded <br />to the Mayor's call for testimony and spoke regarding Charter provisions for redistricting <br />the city into seven wards. There being no one else who desired to speak, the hearing was <br />closed. It was moved by Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Sehlueter and un- <br />animously carried, that Council waive further reading and pass to second reading C~DINANCE <br />NO. NS-626 CHANGING AND ESTABLISHING THE BOUndARY LINES OF THE I~d~DS OF THE CITY OF ~ANTA <br />ANA A~ REQUIRED BY SECTION 101.2 OF THE CHARTER. <br /> <br />{EARING <br />~AC ARTHUN BLVD. <br />STREET ALIGNMENT <br />~A-119 <br /> <br />Mayor Hall opened a hearing on proposed P~ecise Plan of Street Alignment No. 4, Mac Arthur <br />Boulevard. There being no response to the Mayor's call for testimony, the hearing was <br />closed. It was moved by Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Councilman $chlueter, that <br />waive further reading and adopt RESOLUTION NO. 62-226 ADOPTING PRECISE STREET ALIGNMENT OF <br />MAC ARTH~ BOULEVARD MAIN STREET TO NEWPORT AVENUE, A~ SHG~N ON EXHIBIT PPSA #4. Mr. Samual Hurwitz, Special Counsel to th <br />City in the matter advised the City Council that he had completed taking depositions of <br />Charles S. Thomas and Robert Long and in accordance with the stipulation between the City <br />and the Irvine Company, the statements made therein may be filed with the City Coum~il and <br />used with the same foree and effect as if each party had appeared personally and been <br />the questions as set fc~th in l~e depositions and given the answers therein. It was moved <br />by Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Schlueter and unanimously carried, that the <br />City Council receive and order filed depositions dated September 14, 1962, and October 25, <br /> <br /> <br />
