MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA February 18, 1963 The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. Roll call was answered by Councilmen Hubbard~ Schlueter, Gilmore, Brewer, and Mayor Hall. Following the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, the Invocation was delivered by the Reverend Benny Flint, First Baptist Church. MINUTES APPROVAL meeting held February 4, 1963. On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Schlueter and carried, the City Council approved the minutes of the regular BID AWARD On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by NEWHO?E WIDENING Councilman Brewer and carried, Council received and ordered filed a report of bids received for the widening of Newhope and for Rosita Park Facilities, Project C-82; approved award of contract to Warren Southwest, Incorporated in the amount of $33,744.00; and rejected all other bids. BID AWARD On motion of Councilman Brewer, seconded by WATER VALVES Councilman Hubbard andcarried, Council post- poned award of contract for the furnishing of butterfly valves for the water system to the meeting of March 4, 1963, on recommendation of the City Manager, so that further comparison of bids could be made with City Specifications. ~,BID AWARD STEEL PIPE On motion of Councilman Brewer. seconded by Councilman Hubbard and carried, Council re- ceived and ordered filed a report of bids received for furnishing ll,O00 linear feet of steel pipe for water transmission mains; approved award of contract to the American Pipe and Construction Co. in the amount of $89,748.55; and rejected all other bids. ~.HEARING Mayor Hall opened the hearing on Amendment ~'AMEND. APP. 427 Application 427 for amendment of Sectional Dis- trict Map 12-5-10, reclassifying property located on the northeast corner of Fifteenth and Sycamore Streets from the R-3 HB District to the C-2 District, filed by K. 0. Howard and M. M. Rohrs. There being no response to the Mayor's call for testimony, the hearing was closed. It was moved by Councilman Hubbard, seconded by CounciLman Brewer and carried, that Council approve the Planning Commission recommendation for C i ~oning instead of C 2, and instruct the City Attorney to prepare an appropriate Ordinance amending Sectional District Map 12-5-10 according to Exhibit 427-B. ~!HEARING Mayor Hall opened the hearing on the proposed · ' SUNFLOWER & FLOWER annexation of territory designated "sUNFLOWER NORTHWEST ANNEX AND FLOWER NORTHWEST ANNEX." The Clerk re- ported that proper notice of the hearing had been given, that evidence thereof was on file, and that no written protests had been received.
