MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />February 18, 1963 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. Roll call was answered by Councilmen <br />Hubbard~ Schlueter, Gilmore, Brewer, and Mayor Hall. Following the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag, the Invocation was delivered by the Reverend Benny Flint, <br />First Baptist Church. <br /> <br />MINUTES APPROVAL <br /> <br />meeting held February 4, 1963. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by <br />Councilman Schlueter and carried, the City <br />Council approved the minutes of the regular <br /> <br />BID AWARD On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by <br />NEWHO?E WIDENING Councilman Brewer and carried, Council received <br /> and ordered filed a report of bids received for <br /> the widening of Newhope and for Rosita Park <br />Facilities, Project C-82; approved award of contract to Warren Southwest, <br />Incorporated in the amount of $33,744.00; and rejected all other bids. <br /> <br />BID AWARD On motion of Councilman Brewer, seconded by <br />WATER VALVES Councilman Hubbard andcarried, Council post- <br /> poned award of contract for the furnishing of <br /> butterfly valves for the water system to the <br />meeting of March 4, 1963, on recommendation of the City Manager, so that <br />further comparison of bids could be made with City Specifications. <br /> <br />~,BID AWARD <br /> STEEL PIPE <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Brewer. seconded by <br />Councilman Hubbard and carried, Council re- <br />ceived and ordered filed a report of bids <br />received for furnishing ll,O00 linear feet <br />of steel pipe for water transmission mains; approved award of contract to the <br />American Pipe and Construction Co. in the amount of $89,748.55; and rejected <br />all other bids. <br /> <br />~.HEARING Mayor Hall opened the hearing on Amendment <br />~'AMEND. APP. 427 Application 427 for amendment of Sectional Dis- <br /> trict Map 12-5-10, reclassifying property <br /> located on the northeast corner of Fifteenth <br /> and Sycamore Streets from the R-3 HB District to the C-2 District, filed by <br /> K. 0. Howard and M. M. Rohrs. There being no response to the Mayor's call <br /> for testimony, the hearing was closed. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Hubbard, seconded by CounciLman Brewer and carried, <br />that Council approve the Planning Commission recommendation for C i ~oning <br />instead of C 2, and instruct the City Attorney to prepare an appropriate <br />Ordinance amending Sectional District Map 12-5-10 according to Exhibit 427-B. <br /> <br />~!HEARING Mayor Hall opened the hearing on the proposed <br />· ' SUNFLOWER & FLOWER annexation of territory designated "sUNFLOWER <br />NORTHWEST ANNEX AND FLOWER NORTHWEST ANNEX." The Clerk re- <br /> ported that proper notice of the hearing had <br /> been given, that evidence thereof was on file, and that no written protests <br /> had been received. There being no response to the Mayor's call for oral pro-~ <br /> tests, the hearing was closed. <br /> <br />City Council - 34 - February 18, 1963 <br /> <br /> <br />
