MINUTES OF TEE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />March ~, 196B <br /> <br />The m~eeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. Roll call was answered by <br />Coun,cilmen Hubbard, Schlueter, Gilmore, Brewer, and Mayor Hall2 Following <br />the Pledge of Allegiance tothe Flag, the Invocation was delivered by the <br />Rewerend John H. Allen, Minister of Visitation at Spurgeon Methodist Church. <br /> <br />MII~UTES APPROVAL <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, <br />seconded by Councilman Brewer and <br />carried, the City Council approved the <br />minutes of the regular meeting held <br />February 18, 1963. <br /> <br />BID AWARD - WATER VALVES On motion of Councllm-n Hubbard, seconded <br /> by Councilman Brewer and carried, Council <br /> received and ordered filed a report of <br /> bids received for the furnishing of but- <br />terfl~v valves for the municipal water system; found that the two lowest of the <br />three bids did not meet specifications; ordered that all bids be rejected; and <br />authorized purchase of the valves on the open market. <br /> <br />HEARING- GOTTLIEB Mayor Hall opened the hearing on Amend- <br />AMEND. APP. ~30 ment Application ~30 for the reclassi- <br /> fication of property on the north side <br /> of Brook Street, east of Bristol, from <br />R 1 and C 5 Districts to the R 3 District. Council heard testimony from Albert <br />Gottlieb, applicant. There being no further testimony, the hearing was closed. <br /> <br />It was moved by Counc~m-n Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Gilmore and carried, <br />that Council approve the reclassification and instruct the City Attorney to <br />prepare an appropriate ordinance according to Exhibit AA 430-A. <br /> <br />HEARING - ZONING The Mayor opened the hearing on a Zoning <br />0NDINANCE A~NDMENT Ordinance Amendment relative to building <br /> heights in the R-~ zone proposed by the <br /> planning CcmmXssion in Resolution No. <br />5601. There being no response to the Mayor's call for testimony, the hearing <br />was closed. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Brewer and carried, <br />that the Council approve the proposed amendment and instruct the City Attorney <br />to prepare an appropriate amending ordinance. <br /> <br />O~HEARING - HARBOR AND The Mayor opened the hearing on the pro- <br />· EDINGER EAST ANNEX posed ~nnexation of territory designated <br /> "HARBOR .AND EDINGER EAST A~N~." The <br /> Clerk reported that proper notice of the <br /> hearing was published and mailed as required by law and that evidence thereof wes <br /> on file. The Clerk reported that a written protest had been received from the <br /> owners of Brookhurst Farms, Inc., representing 17% of the total land valuation. <br /> Albert B. Boggs, 12042 Edinger, answered the Mayor's call for testimony, and <br /> presented a protes2 petition signed by nine property owners. On motion of Council- <br /> man Brewer, seconded by Councilman Hubbard and carried, the protests were received <br /> and referred to the staff for investigation and report later in the meeting. <br /> <br />City Council - 42 - <br /> <br />March 4, 1963 <br /> <br /> <br />
