<br />Mr. Lecil Slaback be appointed to the
<br />Library Board of Trustees to fill the
<br />Mrs. Anna M. Famalaro, 2110 Victoria
<br />
<br />Drive, and Joe Vogel, 732 Lacy Street, protested the decision to appoint some-
<br />one other than the person for whom a petition bearing 700 signatures had been
<br />submitted.

<br /> traffic control at the intersection of Fairview (Berrydale) and Trask: Petition
<br /> with over 200 signatures, letters from Mr. & Mrs. R. A. Can~mack, 2401 No Laird,
<br /> Rev. Robert H. Hhinehart and eight members of Session of St. Luke's Pres-
<br /> byterian Church, Mr. &Mrs. H. W. Desks, 2405 N. Laird St., Mr. & Mrs. Deryl
<br /> Pearson, 2326 N. Laird St., Mr. & Mrs. James T. McMillion, 12041 Falling Leaf
<br /> Circle, Garden Grove, Mr. & Mrs. R. L. Sheehy, 2337 N. Laird St., Mrs. Bernard

<br />The City Manager reviewed for Council the findings of a staff investigation
<br />of the intersection and requests and reported the following corrective measures
<br />have or will be taken:
<br />
<br />Improved vision by clearing trees, installation of crosswalks, speed
<br />limit signs, enforcement of limited truck parking on Trask Avenue, warning
<br />signs to approaches of Fairview Street North and South of the intersection
<br />with Trask Avenue, and installation of a mercury vapor lamp at this site;
<br />stop ahead signs and improved stop signs on approaches of Trask Avenue by
<br />Santa Aha and Garden Grove; clearance of sand from the Southwest corner of
<br />this intersection, and continued maintenance; a study of the intersection
<br />of Falrview Street and Trask Avenue to determine if a signal is warranted;
<br />serious consideration for inclusion in the 1963-64 budget of four lanes
<br />for Fairview St.; cross gutters recently completed on Trask Avenue; and
<br />~m~vement and maintenance of shoulders on Fairview Street.

<br />Council then heard protests and comments from William Spencer, 2229 N. Arden;
<br />Robert Rinehart, Pastor of St. Luke's Presbyterian Church; and Viola Allenby,
<br />213~ N. Potter.
<br />
<br />It was moved by Counci~m~n Brewer, seconded by Councilman Gilmore, that a
<br />four-way stop be established at the intersection of Fairview and Trask. The
<br />motion carried on the following roll call vote:
