RESOLUTION NO. 96-011 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA TO AMEND <br />RESOLUTION NO. 82-110 TO EFFECT CERTAIN CHANGES TO THE CITY'S BASIC <br />CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION PLAN, AND TO AMEND THE CURRENT <br />ANNUAL BUDGET TO REFLECT THESE CHANGES. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the <br />City of Santa Ana requires the City to prepare, install and <br />maintain a position classification and pay plan subject to civil <br />service rules and regulations and the approval of the City Council; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on August 2, 1982, the City Council passed and <br />adopted Resolution No. 82-110 revising and re-establishing the <br />Basic Classification and Compensation Plan for Officers and <br />Employees of the City of Santa Ana; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on June 19, 1995, the City Council passed and adopted <br />Ordinance No. NS-2253 which establishes the City's budget <br />authorizing position allocations for Fiscal Year 1995-96, and which <br />sets forth the requirement that alterations in the allocations of <br />authorized positions be reviewed and approved by the City Council; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, periodic review of the Basic Classification and <br />Compensation Plan and/or the findings of various classification and <br />compensation studies reveal the need to effect certain changes to <br />the Plan and to reallocate certain positions; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is now desired to amend Resolution No. 82-110 and <br />the Fiscal Year 1995-96 Budget to effect these changes; and <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA: <br /> <br />1. That Section 3 of Resolution No. 82-110, as amended, is hereby <br />further amended by: <br /> <br />a. adding, in proper alphabetical sequence, the new <br />classification titles of Public Works Projects Specialist at <br />Salary Rate Range No. 584 ($3604-$4601 per month), and Zoo <br />Keeper Aide at Salary Rate Range No. 414 ($1573-$2007 per <br />month). <br /> <br />b. providing an equity salary adjustment <br />Firearms Examiner from Salary Rate Range No. <br />per month) to Salary Rate Range No. 602 <br />month). <br /> <br />to the class of <br />572 ($3398-$4132 <br />($3935-$4787 per <br /> <br /> <br />
