399 REL: 1/11/96 RESOLUTION NO. 96-013 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA ESTABLISHING RATES FOR CODE ENFORCEMENT AND HEARING EXAMINER WORK HOUR COSTS WITH REGARD TO THE RECOVERY OF THE EXPENSE OF ABATEMENT PURSUANT TO ARTICLE VIII OF CHAPTER 17 OF THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE WHEREAS, the City Council is adopting Ordinance No. NS- , to add Article VIII to Chapter 17 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code, to establish an alternative nuisance abatement procedure for zoning and building code violations; and WHEREAS, said Article VIII authorizes the recovery by the City of Santa Ana of the expense of abatement of any public nuisance caused by a violation of any of the provisions of Chapter 8 (Buildings and Structures) or Chapter 41 (Zoning) of the Santa Ana Municipal Code; and WHEREAS, said Article VIII further authorizes the city Council of the City of Santa Ana to establish reasonable work-hour cost rates by resolution with regard to the expense of abatement of such code violations; and WHEREAS, the Planning and Building Agency of the city of Santa Ana has submitted to the City Council proposed cost rates for the conduct of code enforcement work and hearings pursuant to said Article VIII, and the City Council determines such proposed cost rates to be reasonable; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA as follows: 1. For the purpose of recovery of the expense of abatement pursuant to Article VIII of Chapter 17 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code, the cost of code enforcement work shall be $67.00 per hour. 2. For the purpose of recovery of the expense of abatement pursuant to Article VIII of Chapter 17 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code, the cost of hearings shall be $75.00 per hour.
