$23 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 96-032 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA TO REVISE THE CITY'S <br />CURBSIDE REFUSE COLLECTION RATE EFFEC- <br />TIVE JULY 1, 1996 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana maintains a refuse collection enterprise to <br />provide for curbside refuse collection to residents of the City of Santa Ana and <br />has adopted a refuse collection rate to provide these services; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is the policy of the City Council that the City of Santa Ana's <br />refuse collection enterprise be self-supporting and supported by charges made to <br />the customers receiving refuse collection services; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the State of California has imposed laws requiring each city to <br />reduce the amount of refuse disposed of in the landfills and to implement a <br />recycling program; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the curbside refuse rate is comprised of several components, <br />including gates fees, collection and recycling and administrative fees; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. On July 1, 1996, the refuse rate payable by senior citizens and mobile home <br />curbside customers, who qualify as low refuse generators under City regulations, <br />shall be $12.27 per month. <br /> <br />2. On July 1, 1996, the refuse rate payable by all other curbside customers <br />shall be $14.02 per month. <br /> <br />3. Except as modified by this resolution, City Council Resolution 94-047 <br />remains in effect. <br /> <br /> ADOPTED this 1st <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> n~ce C.
