RESOLUTION NO. 97-006 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING <br />THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO ENTER INTO AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE ORANGE COUNTY <br />DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S OFFICE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on October 21, 1996, the City Council approved <br />acceptance of $160,200 from the Orange County Police Chief's and <br />Sheriff's Association for two Santa Ana Police investigators <br />assigned to the Gang Unit's Street Terrorist Offender Program <br />(STOP); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, these funds were allocated from the United States <br />Department of Justice Anti-Gang Grant; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, as part of this program, the Orange County District <br />Attorney's office has agreed to provide the Police Department with <br />a full-time Deputy District Attorney and District Attorney <br />Investigator for one year to work with the STOP team; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Anti-Gang Grant funds will pay the cost of the <br />Deputy District Attorney and the Police Department will pay the <br />cost of the District Attorney Investigator, in an amount not to <br />exceed $108,815; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA that the Chief of Police is authorized to enter into <br />a one year agreement with the Orange County District Attorney, in <br />a form approved by the City Attorney, to provide the Police <br />Department with a full-time Deputy District Attorney and District <br />Attorney Investigator in an amount not to exceed $108,815. <br /> <br /> ADOPTED this 21st <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />C/lerk of the Counc~/ <br /> <br />day of <br /> <br />January , 1997. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBERS: <br /> <br />Pulido Aye <br />Richardson Ave <br />Espinoza Abstained <br />Franklin Aye <br />Lutz Ave <br />McGuigan Ave <br />Moreno Ave <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> <br /> <br />
