RESOLUTION NO. 97-052 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA ESTABLISHING A <br />DESIGNATION OF GEOGRAPHICAL AREA IN SANTA <br />ANA AS "SOUTH COAST METRO" <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, that portion of Santa Ana bonded by the Costa Mesa <br />Freeway (State Route 55) on the east, Dyer Road/Segerstrom Avenue <br />on the north, Harbor Boulevard on the west, and Sunflower Avenue <br />on the south has historically been known and called "South Coast <br />Metro"; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this area of Santa Ana includes high and low rise <br />offices, commercial and retail developments, South Coast Village, <br />hotels, restaurants, theaters, residential apartments and <br />condominiums and a future light rail system; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the formal designation of this area as "South <br />Coast Metro" will allow the City of Santa Ana to request the <br />California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to place <br />proper identification signage on Interstate 405, State Route 55 <br />and State Route 73 directing motorists to this area of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the <br />City of Santa Ana that the area bounded by the Costa Mesa Freeway <br />(State Route 55) on the east, Dyer Road/Segerstrom Avenue on the <br />north, Harbor Boulevard on the west and Sunflower Avenue on the <br />south is hereby designated "South Coast Metro." <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Caltrans is requested to <br />install appropriate signage on Interstate 405, State Route 55 and <br />State Route 73 at appropriate locations to direct motorists to <br />"South Coast Metro." <br /> <br /> ADOPTED this 3rd day of <br /> ATTE T :, <br /> <br />~ en~ke o~ ' t~eUYcounc/i~ <br /> <br />November , 1997. <br /> <br />COUNCII~EMBERS: <br /> <br />Pulido Aye <br />Moreno Aye <br />Richardson Aye <br />Franklin Aye <br />Espinoza Aye <br />Lutz Absent <br />McGuigan Aye <br /> <br />ttorney <br /> <br />373 <br /> <br /> <br />
