31 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 98-014 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA TO <br />AMEND RESOLUTION NO. 82-110 TO EFFECT CERTAIN CHANGES TO THE <br />CITY'S BASIC CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION PLAN, AND TO <br />AMEND THE ANNUAL BUDGET. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the <br />City of Santa Ana requires the City Manager to prepare, install and <br />maintain a position classification and pay plan subject to civil <br />service rules and regulations and with the approval of the City <br />Council; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on August 2, 1982, the City Council passed and <br />adopted Resolution No. 82-110 revising and re-establishing the <br />Basic Classification and Compensation Plan for all officers and <br />employees of the City of Santa Ana; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on June 16, 1997, the City Council passed and adopted <br />Ordinance No. NS-2327 which establishes the city,S budget <br />authorizing position allocations for Fiscal Year 1997-98, and which <br />sets forth the requirement that alteration of the allocations of <br />authorized positions be reviewed and approved by the City Council; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, due to the City's commitment of resources to the <br />acquisition of new information systems in all City departments, the <br />Executive Director of Finance and Management Services proposes the <br />creation of the classification Principal Programmer Analyst to help <br />facilitate the efficient and effective implementation of these <br />systems; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is now desired to amend Resolution No. 82-110 and <br />the Fiscal Year 1997-98 Budget in order to effect this change. <br /> <br /> NOW,.THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 3 of Resolution No. 82-110, as amended, is <br />hereby further amended by adding, in proper alphabetical sequence, <br />the following classification title at the 6-step monthly salary <br />rate range indicated: <br /> Salary Rate <br /> Class Title Range (Min-Max) <br /> <br />Principal Programmer Analyst 630 <br /> <br />($4511-5762) <br /> <br /> 2. That the Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 1997-98, as <br />amended, be further amended by allocating two positions to the <br />classification title Principal Programmer Analyst. <br /> <br /> <br />
