189 <br /> <br />KESOLUTIONNO. 98-029 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA CONCERNING <br />THE STATUS OF THE CIRCULATION ELEMENT <br />FOR THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana desires to maintain and improve the streets within its <br />jurisdiction, including those arterials contained in the Master Plan of Arterial Highways (MPAH), <br />and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana has endorsed a definition of, and a process for, <br />determining consistency of the City's Traffic Circulation Plan with the MPAH, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City has adopted a General Plan Circulation Element which does not <br />preclude implementationof the MPAH within its jurisdiction and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City is required to adopt a resolution every even numbered year informing <br />the Orange County TransportationAuthority that the City's Circulation Element is in conformance <br />with the Master Plan of Arterial Highways and whether any changes to any arterial highways of <br />said Circulation Element have been adopted by the City during Fiscal Years 1996-97 and 1997- <br />1998, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City is required to send every even numbered year to the Orange County <br />TransportationAuthority all recommended changes to the City Circulation Element and the Master <br />Plan of Arterials Highway for the purpose of requalifying for participation in the combined <br />Transportation Funding Programs. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA that the City of Santa )ma does hereby inform the Orange County Transportation <br />Authority that: <br /> <br />The arterial highway portion of the City Circulation Element of the City is in <br />conformance with the latest Master Plan of Arterial Highways. <br /> <br />The City attests that no unilateral reduction in through lanes has been made on any <br />MPAH arterials during Fiscal Years 1996-1997 and 1997-1998. <br /> <br />The City has adopted a uniform setback ordinance providing for the preservation of <br />rights-of-way-consistent with the MPAH arterial highway classification. <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />
