MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR <br />~E~I'ING OF MAY 20, 1963 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA~ CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />May 22, 1963 <br /> <br />The meeting of the City Council, in Joint session with the City Planning <br />Commission, was called to order at 7:10 p.m. Roll call was answered by <br />Councilman Harvey, Gilmore, Schlueter and Mayor Hall. Councilman Hubbard <br />was absent. <br /> <br />Those present from the Planning Commission ware: Commissioners Jessee, <br />Reilly, McMichael, Heine, Lewis, and Parks. Commissioner William B. Moore, <br />Jr., was absent. <br /> <br />NEW COMMISSIONER <br /> <br />Mayor Hall introduced Commissioner <br />Parks, appointed to fill the vacancy <br />created by the resignation of Malcolm <br />Smith, who expressed his appreciation <br />for the appointment. <br /> <br />CLERK'S REPORT The Assistant Clerk reported that a <br /> copy of the Order of Adjournment of <br /> the Regular Meeting of May 20, 1963 <br /> had been posted as required by law <br />and that the Certificate of Posting was on file in the Clerk's office. <br /> <br />.?~GENERAL PLAN <br /> PREPARATION <br /> <br />consultants. <br /> <br /> Mayor Hall submitted a letter from J. B. <br /> Hanauer & Co., which offered factual <br /> information regarding the company's <br /> qualifications as municipal financial <br />On motion of Councilman Gilmore, seconded by Councilman <br /> <br />Harvey and carried, the letter was received and ordered filed. <br /> <br />Contract documents for consultant services in the preparation of a General <br />Plan were submitted to the City Council. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS' <br />REPORT <br /> <br />Commissioners Jessee and Reilly presented <br />details of the methods used by which <br />their sub-committee arrived at the <br />selection of the most qualified consultants <br />for preparing the General Plan. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATION Hal Winter, Secretary to the Downtown <br />DOWNTOWN SANTA ANA Santa Ana Association, presented a letter <br />ASSOCIATION from Larry Coffin, Jr., President, endorsing <br /> the recommendation of the Planning Commission <br />and urging its acceptance, and expressing the willingness of certain downtown <br />merchants to pay a portion of the bill. On motion of Councilman Gilmore, <br />seconded by Councilmau Harvey and carried, the letter was received and ordered <br />filed. <br /> <br />City Council - 113 - May 22, 1963 <br /> <br /> <br />
