349 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 98- 0 5 6 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA TO AMEND <br />RESOLUTION NO. 82-110 TO AMEND CERTAIN SALARY AND BENEFIT PROVISIONS <br />FOR CLASSES OF EMPLOYMENT DESIGNATED AS UNAFFILIATED CONFIDENTIAL <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the City of Santa Aha <br />requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a position classification and pay plan <br />subject to civil service rules and regulations and the approval of the City Council; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on August 2, 1982, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution No. 82- <br />110 revising and re-establishing the basic Classification Plan for Officers and Employees of the <br />City of Santa Ana; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on July 1, 1991, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution No. 91- <br />067, amending Resolution No. 82-110 to designate certain classes of employment as Unaffiliated <br />Confidential CUC) and to set forth certain levels of salaries and benefits for these classes; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Aha and Service Employees International Union Local <br />347, Chapter 1939, AFL-CIO, (SEIU) have reached agreement on a new three-year salary and <br />benefit package including three salary increases over the next three fiscal years, July 1, 1998 <br />through June 30, 2001; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is now desired to: <br /> <br /> 1. adjust the base salaries for Unaffiliated Confidential classes of employment <br />during the three-year period July 1, 1998 through June 30, 2001, by the same percentage and at <br />the same time as provided SEIU represented classes of employment; and <br /> <br /> 2. provide effective January 1, 1999, or as soon as practicable thereafter, the same <br />health and dental insurance benefits and employer-paid premium contributions as will be <br />provided for SE1U represented classes of employment; and <br /> <br /> 3. amend the provision pertaining to tuition reimbursement for Unaffiliated <br />Confidential classes of employment, to provide an annual rather than semester based maximum <br />reimbursement; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is now desired to amend Resolution No. 82-110 to effect these changes. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA: <br /> <br />That Section 3 of Resolution No. 82-110, as amended, is hereby further amended <br />by assigning the following classes to the salary rate ranges, on the effective dates, <br />as next hereinafter set out: <br /> <br /> <br />
