"RESOLUTXONNO. 98- 091 DATE: I-(o- O~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA ESTABLISHING CERTAIN COMMITTEES OF THE CITY COUNCIL. 629 WHEREAS, the Mayor has recommended to the City Council that it create committees of less than a quorum of the Council for the purpose of focusing greater Council attention on key priorities coming before the Council in the future; and, WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the public interest to provide effective forums for in-depth review and study by members of the City Council of significant issues, projects and matters outside of the established meetings of the full City Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: 1. There shall be the following committees of the City Council: ao Annual Budget Review and Personnel/Labor Relations; Downtown/Midtown/ArtistsVillage; Light Rail Alignment and Development; Neighborhood Improvement/Code Enforcement Programs and Activities; Planning, Building and Development Services; Public Safety; South Main Street Improvement Plan; and, Youth Alternatives and Development/School Capital Development/EducationalEnhancement and Coordination. The Mayor is authorized and directed to appoint not more than three Councilmembersto each committee, and to fill any vacancies that may arise from time to time. The actual number of Councilmemberson each committee shall be at the discretion of the Mayor. ° All meetings of the committees shall be subject to the Ralph M. Brown Act. Each committee shall establish its own meeting schedule, and may adopt such other procedural roles it deems desirable, consistent with State law, the Charter and the Municipal Code. 4.
