RESOLUTION NO. 1999-043 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council desires to have Articles of Incorporation for ESAC <br />prepared and filed so that this important work can continue; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA: <br /> <br /> Section 1. The City Attorney is directed to prepare and the Executive Director <br />of the Community Development Agency is directed to approve as to content and file <br />with the Secretary of State of the State of California, Articles of Incorporation for <br />Empower Santa Aha Corporation, Inc., a California non-profit, public and charitable <br />benefit corporation, as well as all other necessary docmnents to secure recognition of <br />tax exempt status. <br /> <br /> Section 2. The City Council shall select the initial 23 volunteer Directors for the <br />Board of Directors of ESAC by motion. In accordance with the City's approved <br />Empowerment Zone Plan, the initial Board of Directors will be composed of <br />representatives of the following organizations/groups which will serve for an initial one <br />year term: <br /> <br />1. City of Santa Ana <br />2. Santa Ana Boys and Girls Club <br />3. Santa Aha Youth Alternative Collaborative <br />4. Santa Ana based Housing Organization <br />5. Santa Aha Unified School District <br />6. Orange County Community Church Organization <br />7. Empowerment Zone Resident - Area No. 1 <br />8. Empowerment Zone Resident - Area No. 2 <br />9. Empowerment Zone Resident - Area No. 3 <br /> 10. Santa Ana 2000 <br /> 11. Santa Aha based Asian Community Organization <br /> 12. Latino Health Access Partnership <br /> 13. Santa Aha W/O/R/K Center (includes Private Industry Council, Economic <br /> Development Department, Southland Economic Development <br /> Corporation, and the Santa Ana Enterprise Zone) <br /> 14. Santa Ana One-Stop Capital Shop ~/, <br /> <br /> 16. Santa Ana Police Department <br /> <br /> <br />
