113 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2000-029 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO <br />EXECUTE A GRANT AWARD AGREEMENT AND TO <br />PROVIDE MATCHING FUNDS AS REQUIRED BY THE <br />OFFICE OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Santa Ana Police Department has received $137,000.00 in grant <br />funding from the Domestic Violence Victim Advocacy Program; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, such funding will allow the Police Department to provide additional <br />personnel for victim assistance as well as a victim notification system which will allow <br />victims access to information regarding inmate release and status; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of Cdminal Justice Planning requires that the City of Santa <br />Ana provide twenty-five percent (25%) of matching funds to qualify for the grant. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council after duly noticed public hearing, has determined that <br />acceptance of the grant is in the best interests of the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Approves the execution of a grant award agreement for the Domestic <br />Violence Victim Advocacy Program grant by the Chief of Police, including <br />any extensions or amendments thereof; and <br /> <br />2.
