RESOLUTION NO. 2001-O02 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO <br />EXECUTE A GRANT AWARD AGREEMENT WITH THE <br />OFFICE OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby, finds, determines and <br />declares as follows: <br /> <br />Ao <br /> <br />The Police Department has been awarded a One Hundred and Five <br />Thousand Dollar ($105,000) Domestic Violence Victim Advocacy Program <br />Grant from the Office of Criminal Justice Planning and the required <br />matching funds of Thirty-two Thousand ($32,000) from the Police <br />Department Patrol Reserve Appropriation account. <br /> <br />The grant award will provide for the implementation of an additional <br />domestic violence investigator and a full-time victim advocate. <br /> <br />The grant award will also provide for a victim notification system that will <br />allow the victims of domestic violence to call the jail and receive information <br />on inmate release and status. <br /> <br />Do <br /> <br />The grant designates the notification system to be located in the Santa Ana <br />Police Jail Facility. <br /> <br />The grant will provide for training of law enforcement personnel in domestic <br />violence and provides resources for a Police Department apprehension <br />team for domestic violence offenders. <br /> <br />By accepting this grant, the City is required to a matching fund of twenty-five <br />percent. <br /> <br /> 2. The Chief of Police is hereby authorized and directed to execute the grant <br />award agreement with the Off,ce of Criminal Justice Planning for the One Hundred and <br />Thirty-Seven Thousand Dollars ($137,000) Domestic Violence Victim Advocacy Program <br />Grant. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this 2n~ day of January, 2001. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2001-002 <br /> Page I of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
