RESOLUTION NO. 2001-010 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR <br />GRANT FUNDS FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />INTEGRATED WASTE MANAGEMENT BOARD <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the voters of California passed the Safe Neighborhood Parks, Clean <br />Water, Clean Air, and Coastal Protection Bond Act of 2000 (Villaraigosa-Keeley Act). <br />This Act authorized the California Integrated Waste Management Board to establish a <br />grant program to: 1) assist local agencies in meeting the state and federal accessibility <br />standards relating to public playgrounds; and 2) conserve resources and develop <br />markets for recycled-content materials and equipment; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the California Integrated Waste Management Board has been <br />delegated the responsibility for the administration of the program within the State, and <br />setting up necessary procedures governing application by local agencies, businesses <br />and non-profit organizations under the program; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said procedures established by the California Integrated Waste <br />Management Board require the applicant to certify by resolution the approval of the <br />application before submission of said application to the State; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, if awarded a grant, the applicant will enter into an agreement with <br />the State of California for development of the project; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council for the City of <br />Santa Ana: <br /> <br />Approves the submittal of an application to the California Integrated <br />Waste Management Board pursuant to the 2000/2001 Park <br />Playground Accessibility and Recycling Grant Program for grant funds <br />for playground renovation at the Santa Ana Zoo. <br /> <br />Appoints and empowers the City Manager or the Executive Director of <br />the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency of the City of <br />Santa Ana to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit in the name <br />of the City of Santa Aha all necessary applications, contracts, <br />agreements, amendments and payment requests which may be <br />necessary for the purposes of securing said grant funds, as well as to <br />implement and carry out the purposes specified in said grant <br />application. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2001-010 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
