Woody Johnson, 22~ W. 5th Street, made a presentation on behalf of the appellant, <br />noting a correction in the size of the rest home from 20 beds to 17 beds. He <br />mentioned that there would be no substantial increase in water usage, or increase <br />in traffic, as laundry would not be done on the premises, and service trucks <br />are already servicing the area; that elderl~ persons have few visitors, and that <br />their status would be that of boarders rather than convalescents; that property <br />is ideally located for this use; that present use is day nursery with 20 children. <br /> <br />Approximately 25 persons stood in opposition upon the Mayor's request. Speaking <br />in opposition to the appeal were the Reverend William Young, 2213 Wo Downie, <br />Mrs. Wayne Damerou, 2314 Downie Place, William Heissler~ 2~21 W. Downie, Tom <br />Long, 2220 W. Bobby Lane, the Reverend Conrad McGuire, 2402 W. Bobby Lane, and <br />Mrs. Irene P. Shus. <br /> <br />Oscar Klingsheim, 55~ S. Bond Street, Anaheim, appellant, stated no traffic would <br />be generated by this use. There being no further testimony, the hearing was <br />closed. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Schlueter and carried, <br />that the City Council uphold the action of the Planning C~ission and instruct <br />the City Attorney to prepare a Resolution denying Conditional Use Permit 160. <br /> <br />ORD.
