Woody Johnson, 22~ W. 5th Street, made a presentation on behalf of the appellant, noting a correction in the size of the rest home from 20 beds to 17 beds. He mentioned that there would be no substantial increase in water usage, or increase in traffic, as laundry would not be done on the premises, and service trucks are already servicing the area; that elderl~ persons have few visitors, and that their status would be that of boarders rather than convalescents; that property is ideally located for this use; that present use is day nursery with 20 children. Approximately 25 persons stood in opposition upon the Mayor's request. Speaking in opposition to the appeal were the Reverend William Young, 2213 Wo Downie, Mrs. Wayne Damerou, 2314 Downie Place, William Heissler~ 2~21 W. Downie, Tom Long, 2220 W. Bobby Lane, the Reverend Conrad McGuire, 2402 W. Bobby Lane, and Mrs. Irene P. Shus. Oscar Klingsheim, 55~ S. Bond Street, Anaheim, appellant, stated no traffic would be generated by this use. There being no further testimony, the hearing was closed. It was moved by Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Schlueter and carried, that the City Council uphold the action of the Planning C~ission and instruct the City Attorney to prepare a Resolution denying Conditional Use Permit 160.
