RESOLUTION NO. 2001-017 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF SANTA ANA <br />AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO EXECUTE A <br />GRANT AWARD AGREEMENT WITH THE ORANGE <br />COUNTY SUPPLEMENTAL LAW ENFORCEMENT <br />SERVICES FUND OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL Of THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby, finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. Pursuant to California Assembly Bill 1913, the Santa Ana Police <br />Department has been awarded a $689,309.56 Supplemental Law Enforcement <br />Services Fund (SLESF) grant. <br /> <br />B. This grant award provides funds to supplement law enforcement activity in <br />counties and cities in accordance with specific requirements for front line law <br />enforcement services. <br /> <br />C. Based on Santa Ana's estimated populations figures for 2000, the Santa <br />Ana Police department has received a 2000/01 SLESF grant award of <br />$699,309.56. <br /> <br />D. This grant award requires the Santa Ana Police Department establish a <br />SLESF expenditure account for the grant funds, and commit to spend the funds <br />on front-line law enforcement, including personnel and equipment for community <br />policing. <br /> <br /> Section 2. The Chief of Police or his designee is hereby authorized and directed <br />to execute the grant award agreement with the Orange County SLESF Oversight <br />Committee. <br /> <br /> Section 3. Appoints the Chief of Police, or his designee, as agent for the City of <br />Santa Ana to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents, including but <br />not limited to applications, agreements, amendments and payment requests which may <br />be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned grant. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this 20th day of February, 2001. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2001-017 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
