RESOLUTION NO. 2001-029 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF SANTA ANA <br />AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION <br />FOR FUNDING FROM THE COUNTY OF ORANGE, <br />SOCIAL SERVICES AGENCY, FOR THE MINNIE STREET <br />COALITION FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby, finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br /> <br />The City of Santa Ana, through the Parks, Recreation and Community <br />Services Agency, has developed and implemented numerous grant funded <br />programs designed to assist at-risk youths and their families, with a key <br />element of this effort being the Corbin Family Resource Center, which was <br />funded in 1998 by the County of Orange, Social Services Agency. <br /> <br />As a funded partner of the Corbin Family Resource Center, the Parks, <br />Recreation and Community Services Agency conducts services as part of <br />a collaborative partnership addressing the issues of child abuse and <br />domestic violence, through professional service providers, with the City <br />providing site coordination and case management. <br /> <br />The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency has participated <br />as a partner of the Minnie Street Coalition ("Coalition") for several years. <br />The Coalition has met on numerous occasions to develop a strategy to <br />bring a Family Resource Center to the Minnie Street area. <br /> <br />Do <br /> <br />The City now has the opportunity to apply for funding to develop and <br />implement a second Family Resource Center in the Minnie Street Area. <br />Due to the City's experience with the Corbin Family Resource Center, the <br />Coalition has asked that the City of Santa Aha act as the lead agency for <br />the grant application, and serve as the pass through for the funding. <br /> <br />The grant consists of $300,000.00 per year, for three (3) years. If awarded <br />said grant, the City will enter into an agreement with the County of Orange <br />and the other Coalition partners to implement necessary services. The <br />professional partner agencies will provide the direct services, the City will <br />pay the invoices to funded partner agencies for the services defined in said <br />agreements, and will submit requests for reimbursement from the County <br />of Orange. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2001-029 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
