RESOLUTION NO. 2001-037 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF SANTA ANA <br />AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO EXECUTE A <br />GRANT AWARD AGREEMENT WITH THE UNITED <br />STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN <br />DEVELOPMENT (HUD) <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby, finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br /> <br />Pursuant to the HUD Independent Appropriation Act 2001, Public Law <br />106-377, Special Projects Report 106198, the Santa Ana Police <br />Department has been awarded an independent grant in the amount of <br />$498,900.00 for a Case Management/Crime Analysis system. <br /> <br />This grant provides funds for the Crime Analysis Section of the Santa Ana <br />Police Department for the purchase of a Case Management/Crime <br />Analysis system. The system will provide the Police Department with <br />resources to identify "career criminals" and link them to multiple crimes <br />committed. <br /> <br />This grant award requires the Santa Ana Police Department commit to <br />spend the funds on a Case Management/Crime Analysis system. <br /> <br />The project complies with 28 Code of Federal Regulations 23, the criminal <br />intelligence system operation policy. <br /> <br /> Section 2. The Chief of Police or his designee is hereby authorized and directed <br />to execute the grant award agreement with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban <br />Development. <br /> <br /> Section 3. Appoints the Chief of Police, or his designee, as agent for the City of <br />Santa Ana to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents, including but <br />not limited to applications, agreements, amendments and payment requests which may <br />be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned grant. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this 21st day of May, 2001. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2001-037 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
