MINUTES OF THE ADJOUPdIED REGULAR MEETING <br />OF MARCH 16, 1964 OF THE CITY COUNCIL, <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />March 30~ 1964 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. in %he Council Chamber of <br />the City Hall, 217 N. Main Street, Santa Ana, California. Roll call ~as <br />answered by Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, Harry H. Harvey~ James Gilmore, <br />Henry H. Schlueter, and Mayor A. Allen Hall. <br /> <br />CLERKS REPORT The Clerk reported that the regular <br /> meeting of March 16, 1964 was <br /> adjourned to this time and place; <br /> that a copy of the Order of Adjourn- <br />ment %~s posted as required by law, and that a Certificate of Posting <br />was on file in the office of the Clerk. <br /> <br />FIRST STREET UNDERPASS The City Council received a report <br /> and tabulation of bids received on <br /> Project C-76~ First Street Grade <br /> Separation. On motion of Councilman <br />Hubbard~ seconded by Councilman Harvey and carried, Council received and <br />ordered filed the report, awarded the contract to T. P. <br />Benedict Construction Company at unit prices bid, rejected all other <br />bids, and ordered the bid bonds returned. <br /> <br />SURPLUS PROPERTY Surplus Property Reports were <br />(BUILDINGS) submitted to the Council regarding <br /> buildings to be moved for the widening <br /> of Edinger Street, Bristol to 5~ple. <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Harvey and <br />carried, Council declared surplus buildings and appurtenant structures <br />at 211 and ll9 E. Edinger, lO3 W. Edinger, 1446 S. Sycamore, 1444 S. <br />Broadway, 1447 and 1446 S. Birch, 1445 S. Van Ness, 1445 S. Parton, <br />1441 S. Garnsey, 1445 S. Olive, 1447 S. Shelton, and 1445 S. Magnolia; <br />directed they be auctioned on April 18, 1964 at the site of each build- <br />ing, with Ken Porter to conduct auction and Director of Public Works <br />to act as Clerk; Public Works Department to publish notice of sale in <br />accordance with the Municipal Code Section 2611. <br /> <br />SURPLUS PROPERTY <br />(~SH~NOS) <br /> <br />Surplus Broperty Report was presented <br />regarding furnishings in apartment <br />building at 1446 S. Sycamore. On <br />motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded <br />by Councilman Harvey and carried, <br />Council received and ordered filed the report, declared the property to <br />be surplus and to have low 'value, approved disposal of the property by <br />direct sale without public auction in accordance with Municipal Code <br />Section 2611.1. <br /> <br />RES. 64-41 RESOLUTION 64-41 ACCEPTING A DEED <br />DEED & ESCROW - FROM AMANDA M. BARTLEIN FOR A CASH <br />BARTLEIN CONSIDERATION was read by title. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Hubbard~ <br />seconded by Councilman Harvey that Further reading be waived and Reso- <br />lution 64-41 be adopted. On roll call vote: <br /> AYES, COUNCILMEN: Hubbard, Harvey, Gilmore, Sehlueter, Hall <br /> NOES, COUNCILMEN: None <br /> ABSENT, COUNCILMEn: None <br />CITY COUNCIL - 354 - Mmrch 30, 1964 <br /> <br /> <br />
