In response to <br />Mayor w~11 's suggestion, Mr. Drake agreed ~hat the plmus could be revised <br />to lesae~ the density. <br /> <br />D~uglaa 01ark, 1510 North Marless Drive, spoke, in opposition to the <br />proposed development because two-story apartments would create an auto- <br />court type of struct~re, which would commercialize the area and would <br />create traffic problems and fire hazards. Mr. Clark said that Mr. Pettit, <br />and Mr. and Mrs. Underwood had t~tcated to ~m their opposition to such a <br />plan of cons~ction; that Glemu Farmer, whose laud is adjacent, and Mr. <br />Sherman, had expressed to him their opposition. He indicated, however, <br />that t~e neighborhood was not opposed to apartments, but objected to the <br />two-story, high density develolmzent proposed. Mr. Clark presented a <br />petition in opposition with about forty signatures, and on motion of <br />Councilmau Eabbard seconded by Counc~m~ Harvey and carried, Council <br />received and ordered filed the petition. <br /> <br />P.
