Broadway, attorney for the applicant, said that two <br />requests to operate the service station had been received; that the service <br />station had been vacant for many years, and was an eyesore which needed <br />improving. Mm. Ne~nly also stated that requesting a variance was not feasible <br />because the applicant could not prove hardship. <br /> <br />The Planning Director explained that since the station had been aband~ued for <br />about seven years, its statue as a non-conforming use had been forfeited. <br />There being no further testimony the hearin$ was closed. <br /> <br />O~ motion of Couuc~lm-n ~ubbard, seconded by ~.inc:~lmaw Harvey and carried, <br />the City Cotmcil denied the reclassification. <br /> <br />RECESS <br /> <br />At 11:05 p.m. a 10 minute recess was <br />declared.
