RESOLUTION NO. 2002-009 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF WATER RESOURCES UNDER THE COSTA-MACHADO WATER BOND ACT OF 2000 FOR PHASE II OF THE CREEK RESTORATION IN LOWER SANTIAGO PARK bk:2/11/02 BE IT RESOLVED-BY, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: · ~ S~.~b'0n~;.~ ~.xThe City~ '.G~il ~3f the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: The California DepartmEnt of Water Assistance, Urban Streams Restoration availability of funds for grants. Resources, Division of Local Program, has announced the B= Said grant funds are intended to help solve flooding and erosion problems in a way that provides environmental enhancements and benefits. The Santiago Creek Greenway Alliance has proposed to co-sponsor a grant application with the City of Santa Ana. D= The California Department of Water Resources has established procedures and criteria that require the applicant to certify by resolution the approval of an application before submission of said application to the State. E. The application contains assurances that the applicant must comply with. The applicants, if selected, will enter into an agreement with the State of California to carry out the environmental enhancement and mitigation project. The City will comply with all federal, state and local requirements related to this project. Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby approves the filing of a joint application with the Santiago Creek Greenway Alliance for an Urban Streams Restoration Program Grant.
