MI~ES OF THE REGDLAR <br /> OF THE C1~ CO~¢IL OF THE <br />CIT~ OF SANTA AKA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />June 1, 196~ <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 217 North <br />Main Street. Roll call,was answered by Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, Harry H. <br />Harvey, James Gilmore, Henr~ H. Schlueter, and Mayor A. Allen Hall. Following <br />the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, the Invocation was delivered by the <br />Reverend Geralxl Bash, First Christian Church. <br /> <br />RESOL~TION OF Mayor Hall, on behalf of the Council, <br />CO~ENDATION expressed appreciation to Hugh For-m--~ <br /> for his eleven years of service with the <br /> City as Director of Public WorkS and <br />wished h/m success in his new position. It was moved by Council~m-~ Hubbar~l, <br />seconded by Councilman Gilmore, that a resolution of comaen~ation be adopted. <br />A unanimous ballot was cast by the chair. <br /> <br />CONCESSION STANDS <br /> <br />Counci~m=, Gilmore was disqualified frc~ <br />discussion and action in the following <br />matter because of a conflict of interest. <br /> <br /> The City Manager reported that & low bid <br />of $16,792.00 had been received for the construction of concession stands at <br />the Municipal Stadium~ that in his opinion it was too much money for the City <br />to invest for this purpose. <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Schlueterand"carried, <br />Council re~ected all bids, and directed the staff to investigate other procedures <br />to find a solution at a more rational cost. <br /> <br />WATER TRANSMISSIO~ PIPE On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded <br /> by Councilm-~ Schlueter and carrie~, <br /> Council received and filed report of bids <br /> received for water transmissio~ pipe, <br />Spec. ~81-23; approved awar~ of contract to American Pipe and Construction <br />Co=party at bid prices~ and reOected all other bids. <br /> <br />DEMOLITI6N OF BUILDINGS On motion of Councilman Hubbard, secouded <br /> by Councilman Schlueter and carried~ <br /> Council received and filed report of bids <br /> received for the demolition and removal <br />of buildings at the northeast corner of Eainger and Main Streets; approved <br />award of contract for Item 2 of the proposal to E & G Eng/neers at $2,7~5; <br />and postponed action'on Item 1 of the proposal. <br /> <br />~.~CTRICAL LA~PS <br /> <br />for 196~-65, Spec. ~52-12; approved <br />at list prices less ~9.5% discount; <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Hubbar~, seconded <br />by Councilman Schlueter and carried, <br />Council received and file~ report of bids <br />received for electrical lamp requirements <br />swami of contract to Feldman-SantaAna <br />and rejected all other bias. <br /> <br />CI~ COUNC LL <br /> <br /> Onmotlon of Counc~lm~n Hubbard/ seconded <br /> by Councilman Gilmore and carrie~, <br /> Council received and filed report of bids <br /> received for gasoline requirements for <br />- 403 - J~aue 1~ <br /> <br /> <br />
