RESOLUTION NO. 2002-022 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA ADOPTING THE AWARD PROGRAM FOR <br />OUTSTANDING HISTORIC PRESERVATION PROJECTS <br /> <br /> Kdo: 3/25/02 <br /> <br />.,. z/ l-' ..... <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby, finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br /> <br />On April 1, 2002 the City Council conducted a public hearing on the <br />adoption of the award program for outstanding historic preservation <br />projects. <br /> <br />Last year the City Council approved an incentive program for owners of <br />historic properties. One component of the incentive program for owners <br />of historic properties is an awards program for outstanding projects related <br />to historic preservation. <br /> <br />At its meeting on March 7, 2002, the Historic Resources Commission <br />voted, by a vote of 8:0 (Gartner absent), to recommend to the City Council <br />to approve the City of Santa Ana Award Program for Outstanding Historic <br />Preservation Projects. The Historic Resources Commission <br />recommended the following award categories: <br /> <br />Restoration Award - For exceptional restoration of an historic <br />resource to its original beauty. Restoration includes the re-use and <br />refurbishment of existing facilities and materials, and/or returning a <br />building to its original condition. <br /> <br />Rehabilitation Award - For exceptional rehabilitation of an historic <br />property's exterior structure. Rehabilitation includes use of new <br />materials and the reconstruction of original architectural features to <br />restore the structure or site to its original appearance. <br /> <br />Award of Merit - For any significant measure taken to forward the <br />goals of historic preservation. <br /> <br />Historic Beautification Award - For the historically appropriate <br />improvement of the setting in which an historic structure is placed. <br />This could be the landscaping, parking area, accessory structures, <br />etc. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2002-022 <br /> Page 1 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
