RESOLUTION NO. 2002-037 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO SUBMIT GRANT APPLICATION FOR <br />GRANT FUNDING UNDER THE MURRAY-HAYDEN <br />URBAN PARKS AND YOUTH PROGRAM UNDER THE <br />SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS, CLEAN WATER, CLEAN <br />AIR, AND COASTAL PROTECTION BOND ACT OF 2000 <br />FOR REHABILITATION OF EL SALVADOR CENTER <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br /> <br />The People of the State of California, have enacted the Murray-Hayden <br />Program, which provides funds to the State of California for grants to local <br />agencies, non-profit organizations, and federally recognized California <br />Indian Tribes for park facilities, Environmental Enhancement Projects, and <br />Environmental Youth Service Centers that are within the Immediate <br />Proximity of a neighborhood that has been identified by the Department as <br />having a critical lack of park or open-space lands or Deteriorated Park <br />Facilities, that are in an area of Significant Poverty and unemployment, <br />and that have a shortage of service for youth. <br /> <br />The California Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated <br />the responsibility for the administration of the grant program and the grant <br />project shown above within the State, and setting up necessary <br />procedures. <br /> <br />Said procedures established by the California Department of Parks and <br />Recreation require the City Council of the City of Santa Ana to certify by <br />resolution the approval of the application before submission of said <br />application to the State. <br /> <br />The City of Santa Ana will enter into the contract with the State of <br />California for the project. <br /> <br /> Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby approves the <br />submittal of an application to the California Department of Parks and Recreation for <br />local assistance funds from the Murray-Hayden Program under the Safe Neighborhood <br />Parks, Clean Water, Clean Air, and Coastal Protection Bond Act of 2000. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2002-037 <br /> Page 1 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
