RESOLUTION NO. 2002-058 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO EXECUTE A GRANT AWARD AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES CONTROL bk: 7/09/02 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby, finds, determines and declares as follows: Pursuant to a grant award agreement with the State of California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC), the City has been awarded $100,000.00 in grant funding. This grant provides funds for the Special Investigations Division of the Santa Ana Police Department in order to develop a program to identify and combat alcohol related problem locations throughout the City. The grant will provide the Police Department with additional resources to identify "alcohol" problem areas within the City and develop long-term solutions. This grant funding will enable the Santa Ana Police Department to maximize the effectiveness of its Community Oriented problem solving philosophy through the existing police department, city government and the community COP infrastructure. Section 2. The Chief of Police or designee is hereby authorized and directed to execute the grant award agreement with the State of California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Section 3. The Chief of Police or designee is appointed as agent for the City of Santa Ana to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents, including but not limited to applications, agreements, amendments and payment requests which may be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned grant. Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council, and the Clerk of the Council shall attest to and certify the vote adopting this Resolution.
