Roll Call was answered By Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, Harry H. Ea~¥ey, Henry II. Schlueter, and Mayor A. Allen Hall. Councilman James Gilmore was absent. Following ~he Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, the Invocation was ~elivered By the Reverend Hal Edwards, First Methodist Church. PRESENTATION Miss Toffy Mendoza, Queen of the Fiesta of Our Lady of Guadalupe- Our Lady of the Pillar, presented a cake to Mayor Hall o~ behalf of the parishioners. APPROVAL OF MINUFES On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded By Councilman Schlueter and carried, the F~utes of the Regular Meeting of July 20, 1964 were approved. B~D AWARD - CONSTRUCTION On motion of Councilman Hubbard, OF ~INGER seconded by Councilman Harvey ~n~ carried, Council receive~ a~$rAered filed the report of bids received for Project 140, the ce~stracticm of Edi~ger between Bristol and Maple; approved award of the contract to Sully-Miller Contracting Company at unit prices hid; an~ rejected all other hi~s. James Guthrie, 1023 Wo 17th Street, representing the applicant, stated that the property is presently used as a rest hc~e, but when the area was annexed to the City it was prop~se~ that the host use was a service station; that a lease is ready for signing with ~hell Oil Company if rezoning is approved. The Planning Director stated tha$ the Pls~ C~-~t~sion recommended denial of the application~ as it has against all ~ 2 ~plicatiens em Gr~md~ because of the proposed u~e~ but because the C.-~;~t~si~ felt development should be by variance. ~r.
