GARDEN GROVE It was moved by Coun¢ilms~ Hubbard, FREEWAY seconded by Councilms~u Schlueter and ca~ried~ that the Manager's report on request from Division of Highways for execution of quitclaim deed for City's lease interest in tas-get range at Santiago Park be postponed to the meeting of August 17, 1964. C0~D~NATION PROTEST Dr~ Walter Israel~ 1125 E o 17th, protested the condemnation of his property~ consis'oing of two lots, for a fLre station at 4th and Mabury, stating that the property is in escrow~ and protesting the City's appraisal value. The City Mauager stated that the staff considered the appraisal a fair one. Dr. Israel's letter was ordered filed on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Schlueter and carried. A~IOAN ~UNICIPAL On motion of Councilman Eubhard, ASSOCIATION seconded by CuunciLman H~rvEy and carried~ Council received and ordered filed a ccmmmunication from American Municipal ~ssociation requesting Council's recommendation for new name of the organization. SALARY INCREhSES On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Narvey and carried~ Council approved salary increases for meritorious service as recommnended i~ ~zuager's report dated July 28, 1964o RE~'~E~DUM The Clerk reported that on july l~, 1964 PETITION a Referendum Petition was filed protesting the adoption of Ordir~nce NS-729 and. requesting that the Crdiz~ce be repealed or submitted to the voters; thmt the Registrar of Voters had filed a Certificate with the Clerk declaring that on the date of filing of the pebitlon there were 46,244 voters registered in the City. The Clerk suhmitted a Certificate declaring that the petition was signed by not less than 10% of the voters the City.
