RESOLUTION NO. 2002-082 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO EXECUTE A GRANT AWARD AGREEMENT WITH THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, OFFICE OF COMMUNITY ORIENTED POLICING SERVICES LSS 10/21/02 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby, finds, determines and declares as follows: A. The Santa Ana Police Department has received grant funding of $500,000.00 to fund a Crime Analysis/Computer Aided Dispatch system. This new system will provide the Department with the ability to provide information for inclusion in analysis efforts in support of community policing and problem solving. The funding will also allow the Department to purchase new computer servers to process, store and disseminate analytical information to Field Operations and Investigative personnel. Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby authorizes and directs The Chief of Police or his designee to execute the grant award agreement with the United States Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS). Section 3. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby appoints the Chief of Police, or his designee, as agent for the City of Santa Ana to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents, including but not limited to applications, agreements, amendments and payment requests which may be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned grant. Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council, and the Clerk of the Council shall attest to and certify the vote adopting this Resolution.
