RESOLUTION NO. 2002-103 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF SANTA ANA'S <br />MEMBERSHIP IN A JOINT POWERS AUTHORITY TO BE <br />KNOWN AS THE INTEGRATED LAW AND JUSTICE <br />AGENCY FOR ORANGE COUNTY <br /> <br />mjv:112502 <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br /> <br />Current methods of sharing criminal justice information among various <br />criminal justice departments and agencies is cumbersome and ineffective <br />compounding document preparation, data entry, transmission and <br />storage. <br /> <br />Bo <br /> <br />Participating in a newly formed Joint Powers Authority to be known as <br />Integrated Law and Justice Agency for Orange County will enable Santa <br />Ana to work together with various criminal justice departments and <br />agencies to better access and provide information regarding criminal <br />suspect or offender identity, criminal history and currant justice status. <br /> <br />A coordinated efficient approach to sharing information among the various <br />criminal justice departments and agencies is in the benefit of the citizens <br />of Santa Ana. <br /> <br /> Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby authorizes the <br />City's membership in a Joint Powers Authority to be known as the Integrated Law and <br />Justice Agency for Orange County. <br /> <br /> Section 3. The Joint Powers Agreement establishing the Integrated Law and <br />Justice Agency for Orange County is hereby approved, and the City Manager and Clerk <br />of the Council are hereby authorized to execute this Agreement with such non-substantive <br />changes as may be approved by Chief of Police or designee and the City Attorney. <br /> <br /> Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by <br />the City Council, and the Clerk of the Council shall attest to and certify the vote adopting <br />this Resolution. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this 2nd day of December, 2002. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2002-103 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
