Sycamore - APPROVED. <br />V.A. 2007, BURROWS & AT.LRN - construct 9 unit apartment that exceeds <br />density standards in R 3 district at 1313 Spurgeon - APPROVED. <br />CUP 177, GRALL - establish day nursery in R i district at 2310 S. <br />Warbler - APPROVED. <br /> <br />TRAFFIC REQUEST Mrs. Betty Carrillo, 1131 W. Stanford, <br /> President of Martin School PTA, <br /> requested that a signal or portable <br /> light he placed at the intersection <br />of Wilshire and Bristol because the crossing guard was having difficulty controlling <br />traffic. The matter was referred to the Manager for investigation and report. <br /> <br />PRE. REC. OF SURVEY 376 <br /> <br />Gene English, 419 E. 20th, stated that <br />the Planning Director has approved a lot <br />split at the northeast corner of McFadden <br />and Diamond, and the matter was scheduled <br />for Council action on October 19th. Because escrow closing on the 17th, <br />Mr. English requested that the map be approved at this meeting. On motion of <br />Counc~lm~n Hubbard, seconded by Counci]m~u Gilmore and carried, Council approved <br />Preliminary Record of Survey 376 filed by Shosuka Nitta to create two R 1 <br />lots on the northeast corner of McFadden and Diamond, subject to all applicable <br />conditions and subject to approval of the City Manager for compliance with <br />any technical requirements of the Code. <br /> <br />MEDAL OF VALOR Police Sergeant Harold Hansen asked <br /> Council to consider establishing a medal <br /> of valor to be awarded to public safety <br /> officials for outstanding heroic action, <br />and placed in nomination, as the first recipient, the name of Patrolman <br />Clifford Haydo. <br /> <br />On motion of CounciLman Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Schlueter and carried, <br />Council referred the suggestion to the City Manager for report and recommendation. <br /> <br />NATIONAL FIRE Fire Chief John Garthe announced that the <br />P~ION WE~{ next five days will be Fire Prevention <br /> Week, and introduced Fire Marshal Raymond <br /> Bachtelle, who outlined the Fire <br />Department's current grade school program and invited the Council to attend <br />a children's parade October 10th to act as judges. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />There being no further business to come <br />before the Council, the meeting was <br />adjourned at 8:35 p.m., on motion of <br />Councilm~u Hubbard, seconded by Councilman <br />Schlueter and carried. <br /> <br />DORIS M.
