<br />by COUncilmaa Hubbard, seconded by Councilman Gilmore that the request be
<br />ordered filed, to be c~nsidered at an appropriate future time when the internal
<br />problems of the Police Department are before the Council.

<br />Mathew Xurilich, 505 E. Co~maonwealth, Fullerton, attorney, stated he was appear-
<br />lng on behalf of Mr. Mathews amd requested Council set a hearing, citing as
<br />authority Sections ~07, ~11, ~12, 900 912b and 1100. of the City Charter; stating
<br />also that the investigation by Garvin F. Shallenberger for the City was inadequate
<br />an~ i~roper, since officers called before him have not been permitted to have
<br />attorneys present.

<br />The motion carried to order Mathew~ request filed to be considered at an
<br />appropriate future time when the internal problems of the Police Department
<br />are before the Council.
<br />
<br />It was moved by Councilman Hubbard that, purs,,-~t to Section 1100 of the City
<br />Charter, the City Council undertake its own independent investigation, including
<br />employment of an attorney and investigator for a complete investigation of the
<br />entire Police Department controversy. The motion was seconded by Councilman
<br />Harvey, aa~ mnaaimously carried.
