Project Understanding
The City of Santa Ana has issued a Request for Proposal for the Santa Ana Pedestrian
Safety Campaign — Radio Public Service Announcements. This grant funded campaign
was developed by a media consultant and will highlight pedestrian safety and improve
awareness of pedestrian safety in the City of Santa Ana. The campaign consists of several
elements including bus advertisements, schools murals, street banners and radio
advertisements. However, the scope of work for this proposal is only for the radio
announcement portion of the campaign.
The radio campaign will be in Spanish targeting the large Spanish Speaking population in
the City of Santa Ana. The elements of the radio campaign that Hispanic Broadcasting
Corporation is willing to extend are on -air 60 second commercials, public service
announcements, an on air interview as well as a chance to be involved with community
by doing a station appearance.
Work Plan
Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation will coordinate with Ogilvy Public Relations and the
City of Santa Ana to finalize the radio scripts and develop a finalized schedule to air the
commercial and public service announcements.
To reach the widest listening audience possible we will air some of the public service
announcement on KLVE and other sister stations. Specifically, we will provide the
following services to help ensure a more successful campaign:
• 40 sixty second commercials over an 11 week period
• Daypart: 6am to 12am
• Station: KLVE
• 60 ten second public service announcements
• Daypart: 6am to 12am
• Station: KLVE, KSCA, Recuerdo
• 1 fifteen minute interview
o Station: KTNQ (Hablando en Serio with host Manuel Villasenor)
• 1 two hour station appearance at a City of Santa Ana Event (date to be determined
by City of Santa Ana)
0 10 ten second announcements (que pasa's) of the event
0 1 live disc jockey
0 1 live sixty second call in (live or pre- recorded to sound live)
o Prizes and giveaways
