New Miscellaneous Fees <br />LIBRARY DEPARTMENT <br />9) Material Recovery Surcharge <br />Proposed Fee(s): $8.00 Per Account <br />Department: Administration/Circulation <br />The Library will be utilizing a collection agency specializing in libraries to assist in the <br />recovery of overdue fines and lost material. The Material Recovery Surcharge Fee will be <br />added to a patron's account once the account is turned over for collections. Patron <br />accounts will be turned over to the collection agency once the account is overdue by 42 <br />days and has been issued 3 overdue notices from the Library directly. <br />The proposed fee equals the fee the collection agency charges the Library per account. <br />10) Computer Rental <br />Proposed Fee(s): $5.00 Per Half an Hour <br />Department: Administration/Circulation <br />Santa Ana residents and City employees qualify for a free library card and have access to <br />the Library's computers at no charge. Non-residents may obtain a library card by paying a <br />$45 annual fee or a $15 per day fee for full use of the library's services. The computer <br />rental charge will allow non-resident, non -library cardholders who do not want to pay the <br />annual or per day fee access to the Library's computers. The computer rental fee will be <br />collected at the circulation desk. <br />11) Passport Application Fee <br />Proposed Fee(s): $30 Per Application <br />Department: Administration/Circulation <br />The proposed fee is to help offset staff costs for processing passport applications. <br />61 <br />
