BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. In accordance with provisions of AB 1389, the State of California <br />should require each telecommunications company offering local service in California to <br />bring the benefits of competition to Iow-income consumers, <br /> <br /> Section 2. In accordance with provisions of AB 1389, t he State of California <br />should require each telecommunications company offering local service in California <br />annually to report to the CPUC where the company has local service customers and the <br />number of such customers in each city, municipality, and county, <br /> <br /> Section 3. In accordance with provisions of AB 1389, the State of California <br />should require each telecommunications company offering local service in California to <br />certify annually to the CPUC, (a) its current capital investment in the State and its <br />additional, yearly incremental investment, by city, and (b) the number of its union and <br />non-union employees in the State and in each city or municipality where it provides <br />service. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this 16th day of June, 2003. <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br />Joseph W.
