RESOLUTION NO. 2003-062 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA TO AMEND RESOLUTION NO. 82-110 TO <br />AMEND THE CITY'S BASIC CLASSIFICATION AND <br />COMPENSATION PLAN TO ADD ONE NEW FULL TIME <br />CLASSIFICATION TITLE IN THE PARKS, RECREATION <br />AND COMMUNITY SERVICES AGENCY AND ONE PART <br />TIME CLASSIFICATION TITLE IN THE PLANNING AND <br />BUILDING AGENCY, AND AMEND THE CURRENT <br />ANNUAL BUDGET TO REALLOCATE ONE POSITION. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: <br /> <br />Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the City of Santa Ana <br />requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a position <br />classification and pay plan subject to civil service rules and regulations <br />and the approval of the City Council. <br /> <br />On August 2, 1982, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution No. <br />82-110 revising and re-establishing the Basic Classification and <br />Compensation Plan for Officers and Employees of the City of Santa Aha. <br /> <br />On June 16, 2003, the City Council passed and adopted Ordinance No. <br />NS-2632 establishing the City's Annual Budget and authorizing position <br />allocations for Fiscal Y ear 2 003-2004. The Ordinance a Iso s et forth t he <br />requirement that alterations in the allocation of authorized positions must <br />be approved by the City Council. <br /> <br />It is the City's practice to assign job titles that reflect the duties and <br />responsibilities of the classification and are consistent with other <br />classifications within the City's organizational structure as well as with <br />comparable job titles in the labor market. <br /> <br />The Executive Director of Parks, Recreation and Community Services <br />proposes to create one (1) new full time classification title and reallocate <br />one full time position. <br /> <br />In order to continue to provide efficient and effective planning services <br />with diminished resources, the Deputy City Manager for Development <br />Services proposes to create one (1) new part time classification title. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2003-062 <br /> Page 1 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
